Set up scheduled acquisitions for your product data. This allows Merchant Center to fetch new feeds without requiring you to manually upload data. Adding Supplemental Feeds in Google Merchant Center After saving the supplemental feed, Merchant Center will automatically create a rule in the Feed Rules section of Merchant Center to connect the product data from the two feeds based on the provided id value. In this way, Merchant Center is able to link attributes from both feeds together.
Changes to Merchant Center Feed Rules The Feed Rules section in Merchant Center has also been improved. The changes listed on the Merchant Center support page are as follows. Some changes are still pending. Rule Description Adjust To Use Set Fax List To to assign a specific value from a feed, a calculated value from a product data specification, or a value you create. A "set to" rule allows you to combine values from various properties to create a new value. Example: If the value in the description attribute is missing, you can combine color [color], brand [brand], and title [title] to build the description.
Fetch (coming soon) Use Fetch to update attributes or values based on values already in the feed. Find and Replace (coming soon) Use Find and Replace to replace words or phrases in selected sources. Example: Replace the 'navy' value under the color [colour] attribute with 'blue'. Normalize (coming soon) Use Normalize to replace unsupported values in an existing feed with supported values based on the Product Data Specification. We recommend using normalization for properties with set values, such as condition or availability.
